Dr. Vikas Le-Kumar is a dedicated and highly trained hematologist and oncologist with a robust academic and clinical background. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he built a strong foundation in biomedical sciences and developed an early interest in cancer care and research.
He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from St. George’s University, graduating cum laude for his academic excellence and commitment to clinical medicine.
Dr. Le-Kumar completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in New York, where he served as Research Chief, leading clinical research initiatives and mentoring residents in evidence-based practice.
He then pursued a competitive fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Minnesota, one of the nation’s top oncology programs. There, he received comprehensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of both solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, with a focus on precision medicine and translational research.
Dr. Le-Kumar’s clinical interests include immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and integrative oncology. He is known for delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while remaining at the forefront of innovative cancer treatments. His mission is to improve outcomes and enhance quality of life for individuals facing cancer.
Drawn to the friendly and close-knit Wiregrass community, Dr. Le-Kumar chose to establish his practice in the region to provide high-quality oncology care in a supportive and accessible environment.
In his free time, Dr. Le-Kumar enjoys hiking, traveling, watching movies, and spending quality time with his two children.
